Êrê-rêyë Bî (/ˈɘrɘ/ /ˈrɘjë/ [specific; definite; particular] [earthquake]) is a subtropical Town located in the Vyirukrtmakha Zone of the Union of Engineers.
The name Êrê-rêyë Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Êrê-rêyë Bî was founded by Tregfêbêm Fyênkdsí, who was culturaly Iron Elven.
Climate
Êrê-rêyë Bî has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 18°C (64°F). Êrê-rêyë Bî receives an average of 204 cm/y (80 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Êrê-rêyë Bî covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 1758 m (5767 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Êrê-rêyë Bî was founded durring the early 12th century in winter of the year 1112, by Tregfêbêm Fyênkdsí. The establishment of Êrê-rêyë Bî was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Êrê-rêyë Bî's construction back out of the project. Tregfêbêm Fyênkdsí pushed on reguardles, and Êrê-rêyë Bî was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Êrê-rêyë Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Êrê-rêyë Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Êrê-rêyë Bî is buildings are grouped arround an odd layout of premissive paverstone streets, which seems to be based on an overlapping squair patern such that there are small squares at the cornor of every bigger square. Sometimes buildings exist in the smaller squaires, other times they are open spaces, or occupied by temporary structures. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Êrê-rêyë Bî's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The town's monster and outlaw focused fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.
A look around Êrê-rêyë Bî makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet town filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.
Civic Infrastructure
Êrê-rêyë Bî has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.
Êrê-rêyë Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Êrê-rêyë Bî.
Êrê-rêyë Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Êrê-rêyë Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Êrê-rêyë Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Êrê-rêyë Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Êrê-rêyë Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Êrê-rêyë Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
There’s more than one leader in Êrê-rêyë Bî, but at least some of them are at each other’s throats. It might be a conflict between formal leadership and informal authorities, or it could be a struggle among civil officials. Their interests might diverge sharply, or it could be a personal grudge that’s boiled over. Outside threats and internal problems are likely being ignored until the power struggle is resolved.
Êrê-rêyë Bî's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.
The Magmin near Êrê-rêyë Bî are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
Êrê-rêyë Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in spring and involves ritual combat to channel Conjuration energies of tier 2 via moments of science.
Economy
